Jesus, who drove back the strong typhoon and heavy rain In 1995, I was invited to the Philippines. When I was there, many cancer patients and enormous number of people were healed.
So the President of the Philippines and Cardinal Sin gave me their encouragement, saying “You have worked very hard.”
They asked me to take a rest in a bungalow at an island for a couple of days. I would like to take a break as I can pray in the meantime. I would also like to meet people as I can share God’s love with them. I like both.
After a whole night prayer in the bungalow, I went to the seaside at dawn and gave praises to God. At 6 a.m. it wasn’t yet sunrise. and it was not raining at all. To my surprise, a rainbow appeared. It was even a double rainbow! It was a day that called for a celebration in Bacolod, the Philippines.
‘Oh, how many graces You will bestow today! Even by showing double rainbows like this!’ I prayed so. Since the event was in the evening, I planned to leave in the afternoon to get there.
But throughout the Philippines, an enormously strong typhoon was approaching that even ships or flights were not allowed to operate.
Everybody told me ‘You cannot go.’ They felt scared because the sky was jet black and a great typhoon was imminent. But I insisted, “I have to go. I will go even by myself. I will sow the seed I am supposed to sow.”
Fr. Jerry Orbos who witnessed the Eucharistic Miracles many times was there as well. He also said, ‘No.’ But I said I will still go under all circumstances.
So they sent two of the best swimmers in the Philippines to come along with me. “When the typhoon comes, and no matter what happens, Julia Kim must be rescued at all costs.”
They were firmly instructed as such. Until I reached Bacolod, I kept praying in tongue. When it began to rain, I asked everyone to go into the lower deck of the ship.
While they all were inside, I prayed alone in tongue outside. When we arrived there, a large number of people were waiting for us. They were dancing and jumping for joy. It was awesome! They said, “Oh my gosh, you came through this typhoon!”
They saw that the sea was all black, and while our ship was approaching from a far, but only our ship was shining brightly.
As soon as I got off the ship, the light disappeared. This was not done by me. It was Jesus Who did it by being together with me.
I am just an unworthy sinner. Now I am standing before you, but I am not qualified to stand here before you. I am truly much more unworthy than you.
The Lord did that by being with me because I tried to do the will of the Lord. If you also try with your passion, the Lord will grant you the same grace as well!
And He will accomplish His Work through you! So, on the day the ship arrived, there was one man who was a Protestant. there was one man whose grand father, father and sibling were all pastors from the Protestant church for three generations.
After witnessing that miracle on that day, he said “Truly, I met God today.” And he converted from Protestant to Catholic.
