Two thousand years ago, Jesus spoke, “To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, ‘We piped to you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not weep.’” (Luke 7:31~32) By saying this, Jesus lamented the obstinacy of many secular people who did not properly understand the Gospel that He preached, and ignored it with indifference.

There also seems to be no improvement in our present-day circumstances. Especially over the past decades, the atmosphere to compromise to the trends of the times has prevailed, even in the matters of the Catholic doctrines and commandments. As a result, the Lord’s teachings have not been properly passed down, but often have been watered down. Today we are confronted with the reality that numerous faithful are puzzled in their faith and are suffering spiritual harm.

Meanwhile, the Lord has been reaffirming the authenticity and importance of the Deposit of Faith of the Catholic Church through the messages and signs in Naju, Korea. He has been eagerly asking all humankind to return to His true teachings and to lead a life of eternal salvation. Despite the many difficulties being experienced in Naju until now, the Lord has been repeatedly giving us messages, along with powerful signs to guarantee the authenticity of the given messages, and is granting the grace of repentance to so many people. Given all of this, we can fathom how firm and powerful the Lord’s Will is for the salvation of humankind, and so is Our Lady’s immense maternal love.

Even when the Lord and the Blessed Mother gave us these wonderful messages, signs, and graces in Naju, they were not given to us casually out of nothingness. They chose Julia Kim as Their instrument and the little helper from the beginning of her life. They prepared her from the time when she was in her mother’s womb, and guided her at every stage in her formative life. In preparing her for this great mission, she was not afforded great learning, wealth, power, honor or a comfortable life. Rather, the Lord granted her constant illnesses, poverty, contempt, misunderstanding, opposition, and slander that go beyond imagination. Julia was also given her free will. So she could also have reacted negatively with anger, resentment, or disappointment to those numerous sufferings.

However, she, cooperating with the grace from the Holy Spirit, practiced self-renunciation and love endlessly, and accepted all difficulties with a heart of joy and gratitude by imitating the Lord and the Blessed Mother. In this way, her soul has been strengthened and prepared day after day for the mission entrusted to her by the Lord. In the meantime, Satan and the devils continuously coaxed her to give up the Lord’s work by harassing her with every method available, but their attempts failed again and again.

If we can recognize how the Lord’s amazing providence and grace have worked in Julia’s life, and thus, how her soul has been guided and nurtured by Him, it will help us better understand the profound meanings of the messages and signs in Naju. In other words, the life of Julia Kim will provide us with a background and context to help us better accept the messages and signs. I was worried that she would feel it burdensome to make her life known through this book because she herself always wanted to live a hidden life of prayer, atonement, and charity. This book, however, will disseminate an honest testimony of the Lord’s wonderful work of love in her life, thereby helping people understand the messages and signs of Naju in a clearer way. It will also be a source of great comfort and encouragement for the many people who are groaning in their sufferings and disappointments. It is for this great cause that this book was planned and published.

Our Lord and Our Lady have been working wondrous miracles and granting boundless graces to millions of people through the life of a weak, ordinary woman interspersed with endless love and sacrifice. I hope that many people who come to read this book will be able to glorify the Lord and praise the Blessed Mother.
