The Way of Love for the Lord
Chapter 26. For the salvation of a soul (February 8, 1982)
After the seminar ended, I pondered on the various incidents that had happened earlier this day. I came to the realization that even the smallest thing, if followed with obedience, could lead to an important result. When Mr. Paul Lee asked me to join them in Gwangju, it had been very hard for me to go from Naju to Gwangju due to my sufferings, but I had complied with his wish in the spirit of obedience. Then the Lord had allowed me to meet the lapsed Catholic and guided him back to the Holy Church by working a miracle of love through me, a temporary instrument. If I had joined them in Naju, not in Gwangju, I could not have met him. It was not Mr. Paul Lee but the Lord Himself who had called me to Gwangju, for He had planned my meeting with the man beforehand. Then how could I not obey even the smallest thing? How could I not praise the high virtue of obedience which is the key to open the gate of Heaven? I came to realize this; the Lord has allowed us humans to have free will, so He cannot force His will on us. However, if we accept His plan in the spirit of obedience, it will be a shield and an invincible weapon to stop the arrows of fire which the devils are shooting. The Lord had already arranged that I would meet the lapsed layman when I obeyed Him, so that he could practice the faith again and regain the saving grace which he had lost. The devils who knew this well had interfered with me by employing many different methods. The Lord, however, kept on guiding my heart with His will. In the end, the soul who had drifted away from God regained the saving grace. “O my Love, my Beloved! Whatever pain I may suffer, I will be happy if it is for Your sake. You alone are my Love, my Beloved, my Treasure and my Heaven.” “My lovely little baby! I am with you and at work in your heart, as you obey Me in a simple way without weighing My will with human reasoning.” “O my Love, my Lord! Why do You love me, an unworthy sinner, this much? I only give thanks to You.”
