'A Eucharistic
miracle in Sibu, Malaysia'
Rev.
Francis Su, St. Anthony Church, Sibu, Sarawak,
Malaysia
(November 1996)
Praise
the Lord Who gave us a Eucharistic miracle in my town of Sibu!
This
miracle occurred during Mass in the Sacred Heart Cathedral on September 17,
1996, from 7:30 p.m.
The main celebrant at the Mass was our beloved Bishop Dominic Su,
concelebrating Mass with other priests in the Sibu Diocese: Fr. William Bos,
Fr. Thomas Connors, Fr. Jacob Ong, Fr. Paul Chee, and myself, an unworthy
servant of the Lord. In addition, Fr. Anthony Lam and Fr. David Bingham
participated in the Mass.
The Cathedral was packed with about three thousand people.
Bishop
Dominic Su, who is also my elder brother, delivered a fervent, moving sermon
about the power and Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. The Bishop
urged us to have trust in the healing power of Jesus, the King, Who is present
in the Eucharist.
After
the priests?Communion, I gave Communion to Julia. While I was giving Communion
to other people, those who were sitting near Julia noticed that there was blood
in Julia' mouth. The Sacred Host that I gave to Julia a few moments earlier
had turned into visible Flesh and Blood.
I
went to Julia and prayed with my hands on her head. I smelled the odor of blood
and, then, saw the Sacred Host still moving and changing into Flesh in the
shape of a heart. People were taking photographs. When the photographs were
developed later, some of them had an image of Pieta on the Eucharist that had
turned into visible Flesh.
I
believe that what happened on September 17 was a sign and gift from Jesus and
the Blessed Mother for all those who were present at the Mass. It was also a confirmation of what our
Bishop said about Jesus?Real Presence in the Eucharist during his sermon. It
was the fifth Eucharistic miracle that I witnessed since my first pilgrimage to
Naju in May 1995. Through these Eucharistic miracles, the Blessed Mother filled
my heart with a realization about how urgent the task is to lead people to love
the Blessed Sacrament which is the center of the Christian life. On October 31,
1995, the Blessed Mother gave the following message through Julia:
Teach
the importance of the Mass, the importance of the Sacrament of Confession and
the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist to all the children in the world who do not
know them, and, thereby, perpetuate the gift of the Paschal Mysteries of the
Last Supper and the Resurrection.
'A Eucharistic miracle
in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia'
Bishop
Dominic Su, Diocese of Sibu
(September 17, 1996)
This
Eucharistic miracle took place in our Sacred Heart Cathedral in Sibu, Sarawak, on the 17th of September, 1996,
at about 9 p.m. I was concelebrating the Eucharist with Mgr. William Bos, Fr.
Tom Connors, Fr. Francis Su, Fr. Jacob Ong and Fr. Paul Chee. About 3,000 of
our people, together with Mrs. Julia Kim from Naju, Korea,
were present at this Eucharistic celebration. During the sermon, I stressed on
the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and the healing
power of the Eucharistic Lord. During the Holy Communion time, Julia Kim came
forward to receive communion from Fr. Francis Su. After a short while, the
Sacred Host on the tongue of Julia Kim turned into live flesh and blood in the
shape of a heart. Many people tried to have a look. I stopped them from doing
so to avoid confusion whilst the distribution of Holy Communion was still going
on. A few minutes later, Julia consumed the flesh. Our Lord Jesus performed
this miracle in order to strengthen our faith in His Real Presence in the
Eucharist. To Him be glory and praise forever and ever!
'A miracle that I
encountered'
(Mrs.)
Remedios A. Almazan, Dedeto, Guam
I
am Remedios A. Almazan, a Filipina, thirty-two years old, presently residing in
Guam. I have just been healed of my ailments
by the Holy Spirit through His instrument, Mrs. Julia Kim of Naju, Korea.
I
had been suffering from extreme pains in my right leg and left hip for the past
eleven years. I first noticed a swelling of my right foot and a reddish spot on
it. It was very warm and painful. Then, it spread to my knee. I also had a
goiter for twelve years and a tumor in my cervix. I visited several doctors.
They suggested a surgery. I was afraid and, besides my fears, I had no money
for the operation. So, I just received medicine to delay the growth of the
tumor.
My
husband, Jose C. Almazan, and I came to Guam
on Sept. 14, 1994. We stayed at our uncle' house. I was able to find
employment and worked for almost a year. Because I had so much pain in my right
leg and left hip, I visited several doctors in Guam
for consultation and treatment. They prescribed medicine to relieve the pains.
At night I cried a lot because of the severe pains. I stopped working and
stayed home, because I could hardly move, stand or walk. I forced myself to do
some work—like cooking my food and washing clothes.
One
day, my sister-in-law, Mrs. Gloria C. Comboy, lent me a book, Messages of
Love, which I read thoroughly. I wanted very much to see Mrs. Julia Kim in Naju, Korea
for my healing. I could not go there because of financial difficulties. The
only thing that I could do was to write her letters explaining my present
physical condition and asking her to pray for me to Mama Mary and Our Lord for
my healing. I, too, prayed and prayed the Holy Rosary.
Then,
I learned that Mrs. Julia Kim would be coming to Guam.
On January 10, 1997, Mrs. Comboy and her family, my husband and I went to St.
Francis Church at Yona to attend the Holy Mass and the healing service. After
the Mass, many people were lining up to approach Mrs. Julia Kim and her
assistants near the altar. My husband accompanied me because I could hardly
stand or walk even with my crutches. Before we could reach her, it was
announced that Mrs. Julia Kim would rest for a while. So, my husband and I went
to kiss the Blessed Mama Mary' statue on the altar. While Mrs. Julia Kim was
walking down the stairs, she happened to turn back her head and saw me limping
in pain. I seemed to see a very beautiful lady in blue. She came to embrace me
and I cried aloud unashamedly. I embraced her also and my husband told her and
her assistant, Mr. Song, that I had a malignant goiter and painful right leg
and left hip. They massaged me and advised me to pray hard, to open my heart
and to forgive those who had hurt me. I felt very much relieved. We went home
filled with happiness after the extraordinary and holy encounter. I continued
offering up prayers of praises and thanksgiving to the Lord and Mama Mary. The
whole day, I meditated on the Messages of Love and Reconciliation. I felt the
inflammation of my knee and leg subsiding and the extreme pains diminishing. I
was able to get up alone and walk without crutches. I could walk around with
little discomfort. I did not even take the medicine prescribed by my doctors.
On
the following day, we went again to Yona to attend the Holy Mass, to hear the
messages of Mama Mary and Our Lord, and to attend the healing service.
On
January 12, we were not able to go to Merizo, because we did not have a ride.
On January 13, we were able to attend the Holy Mass and healing service at St.
Anthony' Church in Tamuning. I cried and prayed a lot in the church. I could
walk without any aid now. My sister-in-law accompanied me to show myself and to
express our gratitude to Mrs. Julia Kim and her assistants and especially to
Mama Mary and Our Lord. The group saw me and told me to walk around, which I
did with ease. They sang songs of praise, joy, and cheers. Somebody gave me the
image of Mama Mary and I cried with joy. Mrs. Julia Kim came and embraced me
for the second time, smiling with joy. Suddenly, I fell down on the floor. I
did not know what happened. Others told me later that I was undergoing a
treatment of the goiter by the Holy Spirit through the tender and loving hands
of Mrs. Julia Kim and her assistants. When I recovered, there was jubilation
and picture-taking. I found myself sitting on Mrs. Julia Kim' lap like a small
child. I am now feeling well and I can walk without pain.
On
January 14, I attended again the Holy Mass and healing service at St. Barbara
Church in Dedeo. During the healing session, a member of the group recognized
me sitting in the pew. He accompanied me toward the altar where Mrs. Kim was.
People saw me walking normally. They sang songs again. Then, they told me to
deliver a short testimony. I was excited to say a few words.
Thank
you all. Praise to the Lord and Mama Mary. I love you all.
'The Blessed Mother
of Naju cured my husband' liver cirrhosis and cancer and my cataract'
Pearl
Michael, Cebu, the Philippines (April 29, 1997)
In
March of 1993, my husband, Ernest, was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and
cancer. One month later, in April 1993, he had a stroke and one side of his
body was paralyzed.
Several
months later, Fr. Jerry Orbos asked us if we wished to join in the pilgrimage
to Korea.
We did join in the pilgrimage and went to Naju, where the miraculous statue of
the Blessed Mother was. We also went to the mountain where the spring was.
Before the Mass and after the Mass, Julia prayed for my husband. Also while we
were drinking the spring water, Julia continued praying for us, singing a hymn.
After
we came back to Cebu, my husband was examined
as usual. The test result was that his liver cirrhosis and cancer disappeared;
his liver was clean and healthy! Several months afterwards, he was examined
again at St. Luke
Hospital in Manila.
It again showed that not even a trace of the cirrhosis and cancer remained. His
blood test was normal also.
Actually,
I suffered myself from a cataract since 1985, and was prayed over by Julia,
when she was praying for my husband. Julia also put the spring water in my
eyes. Since then, I have not used eye medicine (eye drops) at all, and said so
to Julia when she was putting the spring water in my eyes. When I was examined
in Cebu after the pilgrimage, the doctor said
that I did not need to use the medicine any longer. I was examined several more
times since then, but every time the doctor said that I did not need the
medicine. I feel that my eye pressure is normal also. I am so grateful to God.
'I saw the Eucharist
in the Blessed Mother'
hand'
Elizabeth
Ok-Ryun Kang, Daegu, Korea (May 3, 1997)
I
visited the Blessed Mother' House in Naju on the First Saturday of June 1993.
Throughout the prayer service that night, a strong fragrance of roses filled
the Chapel. While experiencing the fragrance, I looked at the Blessed Mother'
statue without expecting anything unusual. But I saw a large Eucharist in one
of the Blessed Mother' hands and also a light radiating from the top of her
statue. A while later, Julia said, Those who saw the Eucharist in the
Blessed Mother' hand, please raise your hand.?So, I raised my hand. From
that time on, I have firmly believed in the truthfulness of the Blessed Mother
of Naju regardless of what others say.
Later,
my husband also attended the overnight prayer meeting in Naju with me. He told
me that, when Julia was praying for him, he felt the presence of the Blessed
Mother in Julia and almost shouted, Mother!and wanted to be embraced
by her like a child. After we returned home, the fragrance of roses continued
from my husband for fifteen days. Everybody around us thought it was amazing,
because it was summer and one would expect an odor of sweat from him.
For
some time after that, I could not attend the prayer meeting in Naju because of
some difficulties at home. It was June 30, 1996, when I went to Naju again. It
was the 11th anniversary of the Blessed Mother' first
weeping in Naju. At that time, I had suffered from a hemorrhage for four
months. Because of it, I had pains in all of my teeth which became loose from
the gums. Then, during the prayer meeting, some time between 2 and 3 a.m. on
July 1, there was a sudden flash of light from the Blessed Mother' statue and,
simultaneously, Julia screamed loudly and fell down on the floor (she received
the Stigmata). At that moment, my hemorrhage stopped and all my teeth and gums
became healthy and firm. I was overjoyed and was rubbing and patting my cheeks
with my hands.
Even
until this moment when I am writing this testimony, there has been no
recurrence of the hemorrhage or toothache. I sincerely thank the Blessed Mother
of Naju and will offer up fervent prayers and sacrifices in gratitude to her
and for the triumph of her Immaculate Heart.
'I doubted the
fragrance'
Michaela
Yong-Su Lee, Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk Province, Korea (June 6, 1997)
My
name is Michaela Yong-Su Lee in the Kyungsan Parish of the Daegu Archdiocese.
It
was the morning of June 6, 1997. While I was praying the rosary in front of the
Blessed Mother' statue in the Chapel in Naju, Julia came in, supported by a
helper, and offered up rosaries, scapulars, key chains, pins, the Miraculous
Medals, and the Medals of St. Benedict to the Blessed Mother, touching her
feet, hands, chest, and lips with them. While watching Julia offering up the
holy objects despite her great pains, I deeply realized that the fragrance of
roses from these objects was coming from the Blessed Mother herself as a sign
of her love for all of us and not from any perfume sprayed on them as I had
mistakenly thought. I felt deeply sorry, realizing that Julia must have
suffered more because of my wrong judgment. I prayed, "Blessed Mother, I was
wrong. Help me so that Julia may accept my apology, and approached Julia.
I said to her, “I have something to tell you. I doubted the fragrance of
roses that the Blessed Mother was giving us as a sign of her presence, love and
friendship. I was wrong. Julia made a big smile and said, “It is okay.
You received great graces today. She consoled me instead of scolding me. I
came back to my seat and prayed for Julia, shedding tears. I also thanked the
Lord for the Blessed Mother' presence.
'Many people who
had been away from the Church were coming back'
Rev.
Paul Chee, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sibu, Sarawak,
Malaysia (June
7, 1997)
I thank God for the gift of my priestly vocation and
especially for blessing me with an opportunity to visit Naju, Korea.
Julia Kim came to visit the Diocese of Sibu in Sarawak, Malaysia,
to spread our Lord Jesus and Blessed Mother' messages in September, 1996. On
September 17, more than three thousand people came to listen to Julia at Sacred
Heart Cathedral, Sibu. Before Julia' testimony, there was a Mass by His
Excellency Dominic Su, the Bishop of Sibu, concelebrated together with several
of his priests.
After Julia' testimony, many Catholics who had been away
from the Church came back to make good confessions. During Julia' visit, there
were so many young people there also. Many among them had not made their
confession for a long time, between ten to forty years. They repented of their
sinful lives and turned back to God.
Even after Julia' visit, there were more faithful making
frequent confessions and attending daily Masses more fervently. The numbers of
people who attended Sunday Masses and also weekday Masses had also increased.
Praise be to God for so many conversions that took place after listening to messages
of Jesus and our Blessed Mother Mary through Julia Kim.
'His Excellency Paul
Chang-Yeol Kim, Bishop of the Cheju(=Jeju) Diocese, witnessed a Eucharistic
miracle in Naju'
Rufino Yun-Hoon
Park, Naju, Jeonnam Province, Korea
(June 12, 1997)
On
June 12, 1997, at about 11:40
a.m., His Excellency Paul Chang-Yeol Kim, Bishop of the Cheju(=Jeju)
Diocese, and Rev. Anthony Jung-Yong Kim, an elderly priest in the Kwangju
Archdiocese, came to the Blessed Mother' House in Naju. While Bishop Kim, Fr.
Kim, Julia and I were praying before the Blessed Mother' statue, a Sacred Host
descended from the direction of the Crucifix to the altar in front of the
Blessed Mother' statue. It was a large Sacred Host that priests use during Mass. There was an image
of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Sacred Host. There also were flames of fire
above the Sacred Heart and a small cross above the flames. Two rows of thorns
were surrounding the Sacred Heart. Two drops of the Precious Blood were
dripping from the Heart.
The
Sacred Host was soon moved to the Naju
Parish Church
and was placed in the tabernacle by the Pastor of Naju. Bishop Kim said that he
would report to Archbishop Youn of Kwangju
about the Eucharistic miracle he witnessed. It was the eighth Eucharistic
miracle through the Blessed Mother of Naju, and the seventh Eucharistic miracle
witnessed by the Holy Father or a bishop, and the first Eucharistic miracle
witnessed by a Korean bishop.
'A Conversation with
Bishop Paul Chang-Yeol Kim of the Cheju(=Jeju) Diocese in Korea'
Rev.
Aloysius Hong-Bin Chang, Dongsan-dong Catholic Church, Yeosu, Jeonnam Province, Korea
(June 25, 1997)
The
telephone rang at about 8 a.m. It was Bishop Paul Chang-Yeol Kim of the Cheju(=Jeju)
Diocese. He often calls me to get information about Naju, as he knows me well
from his days as the president of the seminary in Seoul where I studied. Bishop Kim had
witnessed a miracle of the Eucharist descending from above in the Chapel in
Naju on June 12, 1997. He explained to me how he came to Naju on that day.
After
attending a meeting at the seminary in Kwangju,
I said to Archbishop Yoon, "I wish to make a visit to Naju. Can I go with Fr.
Anthony Jung-Yong Kim?"
Fr. Kim belonged to the Kwangju Archdiocese and was Bishop Kim' classmate in
the seminary. Archbishop Yoon said, "Please make the visit quietly.
Bishop Kim only wanted to visit Naju and pray quietly there. So, he didn't even
inform anyone in Naju beforehand about his visit. He arrived at the Blessed
Mother' House and began praying the rosary in front of the Blessed Mother'
statue that had wept tears and tears of blood. Soon Rufino Park
came out and greeted the Bishop and, a while later, Julia came out also. Rufino
explained to the Bishop about the tears, tears of blood, fragrant oil, and
Eucharistic miracles. Rufino also explained the miraculous descents of the
Eucharist from above the Blessed Mother' statue during the Apostolic
Pro-Nuncio' visit on November 24, 1994, and also on July 1, 1995, during an
overnight prayer meeting. Then, they were about to begin praying. Suddenly, a
loud sound was heard from the front of the Blessed Mother' statue. Everybody
was surprised and looked. A white Host had landed on the altar before the
Blessed Mother' statue. The Bishop said on the phone, It was the Eucharist
for sure. So, I asked the Pastor of Naju to come and to preserve the Eucharist
well, as the Eucharistic miracle had never occurred in this manner.?The
Pastor came and carried the Eucharist to his Parish and placed the Eucharist in
the tabernacle. But the Eucharist was later moved to the Kwangju Archdiocesan
office at the Archbishop' instruction. Bishop Kim added that his Eucharistic
devotion became stronger than ever because of this experience.
Bishop
Kim continued, I reported this to Archbishop Yoon and also told him about
the Eucharistic miracle in the Vatican
on October 31, 1995. Later I was invited to speak at a conference on theology
hosted by a Protestant organization in Europe.
I told the audience about a Protestant clergyman in Korea who came to Naju and
testified in favor of the Marian devotion and also about the miraculous
happenings in Naju. Many Catholic Bishops and Protestant ministers who attended
the conference already knew about Naju and asked me many questions. Bishop
Kim also mentioned that a statue of the Blessed Mother owned by a family in Rome wept tears of blood
four times, and the local Bishop was already preparing to approve it. He said
that he saw many pilgrims visiting that place and praying. I asked Bishop Kim, why
didn't you report the Eucharistic miracle you witnessed to the Sacred
Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith? Bishop Kim said, what is
the need? The Holy Father already approves it. The only thing that is needed
now is an approval by the Archbishop of Kwangju.
'How can I describe such an amazing
event?'
Immaculata
Bun-Min Han together with twenty-three others, Seoul,
Korea (August
27, 1997)
While
we were praying the third decade of the Glorious Mysteries, Julia said that
light was radiating from the Crucifix and the Blessed Mother' statue. So, I
began to look intently in that direction. Then, suddenly, a white object came
down from the direction of the Crucifix. It came down like a snowflake or a
white butterfly. My eyes were following the movement of the object. It landed
between Julia, who was in severe suffering, and Father Raymond Spies. Someone
shouted, It is the Eucharist! And all the people in the Chapel swarmed
to that area. I also rushed to see, and I saw a Sacred Host! Oh, marvelous
Mystery of the Eucharist! Jesus reveals it even to a sinner like me. How can I
describe such an amazing event? What a sweetness, joy, delight, peace, and
love! My heart was pounding. Trembling, I called the Lord and promised: Jesus
Who is alive in the Eucharist! Now, let even this sinner start living a new
life, without rejecting the Lord and the Blessed Mother. Until the Lord calls
me, let me live according to the messages from the Blessed Mother, who said, ‘I
want you to win victory in the war against three enemies (the flesh, the world,
and the devil) and be totally and courageously loyal, displaying more
vigorously the power of love in joy, love, and peace.?Glory be to the Lord.
Amen.
'The Blessed Mother
did not want my family to break
up'
Agnes
Suk-Hee Yoo, Seoul, Korea
(September 18, 1997)
I
own a small restaurant and have been married for twenty-four years. I was
baptized seventeen years ago. My husband and I had problems from the beginning.
Our two daughters have grown up, one now in college and another in high school.
But our problems continued, with no peaceful days. In recent months, I
repeatedly suggested divorce without any hesitation.
Finally
on July 14, 1997, we agreed to get divorced. My husband said that, if I signed
the papers first, he would give me alimony. But I said that, if he gave me
alimony first, I would sign the papers. Neither making any concession, we
decided to continue living in the same house like strangers. He promised to
give me alimony ten months later (which is next May). We agreed to separate at
that time. It was extremely painful to live like that, trying to avoid each
other in the same house. I could not concentrate on my business. My mind was
filled with resentful thoughts about my husband. I worked hard every day, but
he was living freely, even meeting other women. I needed some rest from my
work.
Seeking
peace even for a month, I looked for a retreat house and, finally, came to the
Blessed Mother' House in Naju. It was August 26, 1997, at about 8:20 p.m., when I
arrived there. I went there without expecting any miracle or asking for any
sign. All I wanted was some rest and peace. However, unexpectedly, I saw a
miracle!
The
next day, August 27, I saw the Eucharist coming down from the Crucifix and saw
Julia suffering pains with a swollen abdomen. When a foreign priest placed the
just-descended Eucharist on Julia' stomach and prayed, her abdomen returned to
its normal size. I was beside myself. I began crying. Tears were pouring down.
I soon realized that my tears were tears of grace for my repentance. I realized
that the Blessed Mother did not want my family to break up.
Two
days later, I left Naju and arrived at Yeoungdeungpo Railroad Station in the
southern part of Seoul,
but did not feel like going home. I telephoned several other places, because I
did not want to face my husband' terrifying face. Finally, I called home to
let the children know that Mom had arrived. But it was my husband who answered
the phone. It was a soft voice: “Come home soon. When I arrived home,
he embraced me warmly and consoled me. I burst into tears. I was still in my
husband' arms. Thank God. Thank you, Jesus and the Blessed Mother!
'Oh, Mary, I love
you. Take my heart and lead me to your Son'
Merton
(Dave) Rodger, Sunland, California (October 1997)
In
the late spring of 1997 I received a color newspaper, Mary' Touch #3
from a Filipino missionary priest. Our Lady of Naju was on the front page with
tears of blood streaming down her face! On the second page I saw Pope John Paul
staring into the face of a Korean woman with her mouth wide open! The woman was
Julia Kim and when I turned the page I saw what our Pope had seen. In a large
color blowup was the real flesh and blood in the form of a heart on her tongue.
I was looking at the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the sight overwhelmed me. When
Julia received Holy Communion from our Holy Father in the Vatican, this transformation took
place in front of Pope John Paul (on October 31, 1995). I found myself on my
knees in tears and vowing to go to Naju.
Now
it' June 30. I was with Judy Navarrete from Los Angeles and a group of pilgrims, and I
was kneeling in front of Our Lady' statue that cried tears and tears of blood
for 700 days and gave off fragrant oil for 700 days. As I prayed to Our Blessed
Mother, I asked her what she wanted me to do. Suddenly my prayer was
interrupted by shouts from out front of the chapel: MIRACLE, MIRACLE,
MIRACLE! I ran out front to see what was going on. Everyone was pointing
to the sun. I looked at the sun, but it didn't hurt my eyes. It was pink with
jagged edges and seemed to be wobbling erratically. Then as I looked, it went
further up into the heavens until it was the size of a pinhead! Suddenly it
came right at me and I was bathed in a cone of light. I looked left and right
and all I could see was brilliant light. Then just as suddenly it retreated
back into the heavens. This happened two more times. I thought to myself that
this was going to be an intense pilgrimage, and it was. Judy rushed over and
said, did you see all the pilgrims changing colors just like at Fatima?Still somewhat dazed, I muttered, "No.
Judy then asked, what were you doing? I replied, looking at the
sun. In a few moments we were on the bus heading for the all-night vigil.
The
Koreans sang so beautifully and prayed so deeply. I was being swept up in
something so beautiful. At about 9 p.m., I went downstairs on the main floor to
pray before Our Lady. My wife had died only a few months earlier and I wanted
Our Lady to tell me what she wanted me to do with the rest of my life.
Meanwhile, a lot of Korean women were trying to get into the large gymnasium to
pray before Our Lady. So I decided to end my prayer and let them in. As I
turned to get up, Judy was at my side yelling, look at her hands! I
glanced back and Our Blessed Mother had a Eucharistic Host in her hands!! Judy
threw her camera to me and I took a couple of pictures. When I turned to give
back her camera, she yelled again, and when I glanced back Our Lady had two
Hosts in her hands! Later that night Julia told us that it was Our Blessed
Mother' way of thanking us for responding to her call.
It
must have been 3 o'clock in the morning when Julia came to read a message from
Jesus that wasn't even five minutes old. Some parts of the message were sad and
Julia began to cry while other parts offered hope and she began to sing. She
had a strong voice with a sweet quality. Everyone was spellbound! When she finished
the silence was deafening. I heard a gasp on the main floor. I thought maybe
someone was sick. Then I heard another, and another, and suddenly the whole
main floor was on their knees in tears. Conversions were everywhere! We were in
the balcony and I looked around at the Westerners. They were standing around
wide-eyed wondering what was going on! I thought,What' wrong with me? I
came 6,000 miles! Why can't I get into this??People were being touched but
it wasn't happening to me. The main event was over so I decided to go out for a
bottle of ice water.
It
was starting to rain when I stepped outside and walked along the building on my
way to get some ice water. Suddenly I felt a great sadness come over me and I
burst into tears! I blurted out with deep feeling, Oh, Mary, I came 6,000
miles, please don't leave me on the outside looking in.?The (lower) main
floor was reserved for the Koreans but I thought if only I could see Julia,
things might be different, dried my eyes and walked on the main floor. Suddenly
a Korean man ran over to me and grabbed me by the wrist and in broken English
said, “You come with me! He led me through the crowd all the way up
front. In a second I realized Our Blessed Mother was answering my prayer! Now I
was surrounded by seven priests who laid hands on me, and I prayed to know what
God' will for me was. In a second I was looking into the face of Julia Kim.
Her dark eyes were sparkling and she had a beautiful smile. My legs turned to
jelly and I blurted out, “God bless you, Julia. I only took one step
and burst into uncontrollable tears. Judy was at my side saying, “You were
touched, huh? Well, it isn't over yet! In a few moments we were back on
the bus and headed for the hotel.
The
moonlight was coming through my hotel window and I was too excited to sleep. So
I decided to pray in the moonlight. I knelt down and never got a word out! My
whole body began to shake as if there was an earthquake going on inside. From
depths I didn't know existed I cried out,Oh, Mary, I love you. Take my
heart and lead me to your Son?for the next 20 minutes or so with tears
streaming down my face. I murmured sweet words of love to Jesus. At that moment
I never wanted to leave Naju. Each morning during the pilgrimage I awoke in
heavy tears with a feeling of love that I’d never known before.
Naju
was the most wonderful experience and leaving was so hard.
(Update: Mr.
Rodger is now into his fifth year spreading the Naju messages.)
