My experience in Naju, Korea
John
Jin-Young Chung, Laurel, Maryland (January 1, 2000)
My
name is John Chung from Washington,
D.C. In 1974, when I was 30, I
quit my job at a bank in Korea
and immigrated to the United
States together with my wife and a two
year-old son. While in Korea,
in 1969, I became a Catholic in order to marry my present wife. However, I have
been a superficial Catholic for the past thirty years. I only went to
Confession a few times during that time.
I
worked hard in America
and considered myself a successful immigrant. Our son became a medical doctor.
Then, in June 1999, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was devastating news.
I discontinued all my work and tried to fight the cancer. One day, my
daughter-in-law suggested that I visit Naju. I felt reluctant, because I had
not been a fervent Catholic at all. I was almost forced by my daughter-in-law
and her father to come to Naju. So, here I am in Naju. I planned to be here for
three days only, but, after three weeks, I am still here.
I
used to be a rationalist, preferring science to religion and refusing to
believe anything unless I could understand it. My daughter-in-law kept telling
me about the signs and healings in Naju, but I could not believe them.
Before
coming to Naju, we made a sightseeing trip to Cheju(=Jeju) Island
for three days. After that trip, I had a high fever and pains all over my body.
A few days later, the fever was gone, but three red spots appeared on my back.
I did not think much of them, and went to Naju as planned.
For
the first two days when we were praying in the Chapel and drank the “miraculous
water?on the Blessed Mother's mountain, the three spots on my back spread even
to my left side and abdomen. There were blisters around my navel. I called a
doctor in Seoul,
who was a friend of mine, and explained the symptoms to him. He said that it
was caused by an invasion of viruses into the nerves and that I had to be
hospitalized as soon as possible. While I was going to the train station in
Naju, I met several people who said that they were on the way to the Blessed
Mother's mountain. I followed them and drank the water from the fountain. I
also washed the affected areas on my body with that water. I continued to stay
in Naju, treating myself with the water. After a few days, the spots and blisters
disappeared completely.
While
in Naju, I have seen so many miracles and experienced some myself. I worry that
my friends in America
will not believe me when I tell them what happened in Naju. I will describe
just a few experiences here.
I
smelled a fragrance of roses from the spot on the floor in the Chapel where the
Eucharist miraculously descended in 1998.
My
wife had been suffering from coughing and pain in her throat, but became well
after drinking water from the Blessed Mother's mountain.
While
I was drinking water on the Blessed Mother's mountain, the water in the bowl
which I was holding became human milk. I was so surprised that I stirred it
with my fingers. It was real milk, with some thickness. I believe that this is
the “spiritual milk?from the Blessed Mother. I cannot help believing in its
truthfulness, because I saw it with my own eyes. Also from the springs, I
smelled a powerful fragrance of flowers. This cannot be anything else but a
miracle which I cannot explain based on my common sense.
I
still need a medical examination by doctors, but I can say this: when I came
here, I was an exhausted, extremely tired person because of the lung cancer.
Now, three weeks later, I feel like flying and even having a wrestling match
with a young man. I do not feel any sickness in me. I will have a checkup after
returning to America,
but I already feel that my lung cancer is gone.
I
have been like a new person since I came here. I am so grateful to the Blessed
Mother for giving me such an amazing miracle despite my lack of faithfulness.
She gave me this grace of healing not because of my faith but because of the
prayers and faith of many priests, Sisters, and friends who have been praying
for me. I truly repent my past life and resolve to make efforts to promote the
Blessed Mother after I return to America.
A
Korean priest told me about his experience in Rome. The driver in a taxi cab asked the
priest if he was from Korea.
When he said “Yes, the driver said that he was saving money to make a
pilgrimage to Naju and even refused to accept taxi fare from the priest.
The
Blessed Mother has appeared in Lourdes, Fatima and other places. There are miraculous springs in
other shrines also. However, where is a place really like Naju, where so many
supernatural manifestations have occurred in such a comprehensive manner? I do
not understand why the Blessed Mother's House in Naju does not have the
approval from the local diocese yet. Can anyone explain the reason to me? I
also do not understand why Mrs. Julia Kim has to live a restricted life, not
even praying in the Chapel with other pilgrims. The authoritarian style not
only in the government but also in the Church in Korea has to change.
I
ask everyone to pray that the restrictions on Naju may be removed, Julia may pray
with us, and the Blessed Mother's messages may spread to all corners of the
world. Let us pray that the whole Catholic Family may gather and pray together
here and receive graces. I will do my part until the day when the Triumph of
the Blessed Mother's Immaculate Heart is achieved.
The holy water in Naju found to
have purifying power
Microbiologists in Hungary report
after a yearlong investigation
Dr.
Gyula Molnar, Budapest, Hungary (January 2000)
Dear
Julia,
It
was with great pleasure that I received your Christmas wishes with the message
of the Blessed Mother.
I
would like to draw your attention to the third volume of the books on Naju
containing twenty pages on the holy water. As you know, a number of researches
have analyzed the holy water in the course of the last decade. Budapest, my hometown, has
also joined in these investigations since 1998. On the occasion of my
pilgrimage to Naju, I myself took some samples of your water to my country.
Several microbiologists have put themselves to the analysis of the water with
strongly encouraging results. My friends at the National
Center for Epidemiology in Budapest have maintained
that the research with the holy water was never tiresome and constantly led
them to unexpected discoveries.
Of
course, scientific analyses require much time since it is necessary to repeat
them several times before definitive confirmation of the results can be
obtained. What we can say with certitude after a year of research is that the
holy water from Naju stops such bacteria as salmonella, escherichia coli,
yessinia enterocholitica and ciprobacter freundii from propagating. These
initial results have been verified not only with the original water from Naju
but also with normal water to which a certain quantity of the holy water has
been added. A series of experiments have demonstrated that upon simultaneously
exposing a test tube of tap water and one of the holy water to sunlight for
several weeks, algae become noticeable in the first one three weeks before the
phenomenon occurs in the second. Even so, the holy water maintains its purity
and odorlessness longer than the normal water. Biologists and chemists are
constantly at work to explore to what degree the holy water of Naju possesses
the power to purify contaminated water, for example the water taken from a
river. Laboratory experiments executed in August 1998 demonstrated that just
one milliliter of water from Naju purified 200 milliliters of tap water to its
own level. Confirmation of these results is expected from here at the end of
January. Water beetles were found to be useful agents in this process.
All
this shows us that it is not our imagination which attributes these forces to
this holy water but that these are entirely real, even if it is not always
possible to give a definitive explanation.
It
seems that the holy waters from all over the world have in common the same
scientific mystery and that it remains to us to hope that our investigations in
progress in Boston, Milan, Modena and, finally, in Budapest will succeed in
clarifying this mystery.
I
hope that the Lord in His generosity will permit us one day by means of our
investigations to understand a portion of the great truth contained in these
holy waters.
With
these thoughts I leave you, dear Julia, and united myself with you in daily
prayers so that we can triumph in the battles before us in the year 2000 as our
Holy Father also wishes.
Misjudgment and
misunderstanding have dissipated in the presence of the fragrance of roses
Joon-Soo Park,
Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk Province,
Korea (January
10, 2000)
My
name is Joon-Soo Park
in Daegu, Korea. I am preparing to be
baptized this coming Easter Sunday. The Blessed Mother has called me from the
Protestant church.
I
would like to give testimony about some people who have been bearing beautiful
fruits of love and evangelization thanks to the fragrance which represents the
presence of the Lord and the Blessed Mother. I want to emphasize that so much
prayer and acts of charity are necessary to help save one soul and that the
missionary work is never a work of a single individual. I want to give special
thanks to Virgitta and Serena, who, despite the indifference and criticisms by
those around them, succeeded in bearing fruits of love with Jesus and Mary, who
will triumph eventually. I have realized the truth that we are all brethren in
the Lord and the Blessed Mother and that, when we are united with each other in
love, God's presence and help will stay with us without fail.
The
first testimony is about Mr. Koo who eventually came back to the Lord and the
Blessed Mother after smelling the fragrance of roses. I noticed that he was
changing not only spiritually but also in his outer appearance. When he was at
work (making dresses), he played the Marian hymns from Naju and was singing
along. He looked like an innocent boy. I was filled with joy.
Mr.
Koo's wife was baptized a long time ago, but has been away from the Church for
the past twenty-two years. After noticing changes in her husband's life, she
came to Naju with her husband. People teased him, saying that they were like
newlyweds. He is taking instructions by correspondence with much zeal. He is so
anxious not to be late for Mass. Mr. Koo, his wife, and myself are all
catechumens, but are so happy as we sing together praising the Lord and the
Blessed Mother.
The
second testimony is about a woman who had been severely prejudiced against the
Blessed Mother of Naju, but corrected her erroneous view. The owner of a flower
shop had been taking instructions, but gave up and became a Buddhist. So, I
visited him several times and told him about my experiences. He said that he would
believe in God, if he could have even one experience like mine. While I was
again telling him about the Blessed Mother of Naju in his flower shop, a young
lady came in and was listening to us. She said that she was a Catholic and
that, even though she had never been to Naju, she heard about Naju from her
pastor. Her pastor told her that the fragrance in Naju was from perfume and
that the tears of blood on the Blessed Mother's statue were actually animal
blood that people in Naju used to deceive others. He told her that the miracles
in Naju were definitely false. I was shocked, but told her what I had
experienced in Naju. At that moment, all three of us smelled a sweet fragrance,
which grew stronger as we continued to talk. The young lady began shedding tears.
She said that she would surely visit Naju. I was amazed by the love and power
of God, Who repelled the misjudgment and misunderstanding in a few seconds by
means of the fragrance. The flower shop owner also became interested in the
Catholic Faith again.
The
third testimony is about a woman who owns a bookstore specializing in
professional books. She grew up under her grandmother who was a devout
Catholic, but stopped going to church when she got married seven years ago. Her
husband, who was one year younger than her, was a car dealer in a foreign
country. He visited home very infrequently. When he came and left, he left huge
credit-card debts to his wife. She was leading a difficult life, raising two
children. She was even pressed by her mother-in-law to convert to Buddhism. I
felt sorry for her, and visited her home several times. In her home, I met a
man who appeared to be about thirty years old. I thought that he might be a
Buddhist and began telling him about the Life of Jesus and his miracles. As I
was talking, he kept his eyes closed. I thought that he was moved by my talk.
Several
days later, I found out what had really happened to him while I was talking to
him. He was smelling a sweet fragrance. His mother was a shaman, and he himself
was somewhat into it also. I became more anxious and went back to the bookstore
to learn his address and phone number. While I was talking to the owner of the
bookstore, she said that she smelled a fragrance. She said that the bookstore
always had an unpleasant odor from old books and could not understand from
where this fresh, sweet fragrance was coming. She said that she could not
describe how she was feeling and that she felt like crying. She said that she
wanted to rush to a church to kneel before the Lord and pray. I was so
surprised at the sudden change in her. The fragrance lasted for about an hour.
The Lord was soaking our souls in His graces like a sweet rain.
I
called her the next day and was told that she had resumed praying the rosary
for the first time in a long time, that she would let her two children be
baptized, that she would pray for her mother-in-law, and that she would be more
understanding and loving towards her husband. She promised that she would never
waver in her trust in the Lord and would lead a good life. I was amazed again
by the Blessed Mother's leading many people on the road to salvation by
revealing her presence to them. I pray and pray again that the owner of the
bookstore and her family will become a holy family in the blessing and graces
from the Lord and the Blessed Mother.
I
think we should do our best in spreading the Blessed Mother's words from Naju
so that more souls may go to Heaven. Every time we work to make Naju known in
little ways, the Lord and the Blessed Mother help and, sometimes, even give us
the fragrance, which represents their presence. This confirms to me that the
signs that they give us in Naju for this age are genuine. Thank you, Lord and
Blessed Mother!

messages
A
letter to Mary's Touch By Mail
from Fr. Godwin Nnadozie, M.S.P.,
St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mafikeng, North West Province, South Africa
(January 5, 2000)
Beloved
in Christ,
Happy
New Year and compliments of the season! As we begin the Third Millennium, I ask
the good Lord to renew your strength.
Some
time ago, I promised to send you a report on what I am doing here in order to
promote the Marian messages to Julia. I am doing it from personal conviction
that the messages of love which God is offering to everyone of us at this time
through our Mother Mary via Julia is proper to our time. Secondly, the
miraculous phenomena (Sacred Hosts descending, statue shedding tears and tears
of blood, Sacred Host turning into visible flesh, etc.) provide solid backing
to the Church's teaching on the Eucharist. Granted that we must not crave for
signs and miracles, we must, however, be grateful to God when He decides to
give some signs.
From
the video: Mary Draws Us To The Eucharist, the book: Messages of Love,
and other materials which you freely sent to me, I worked out series of talks
on the Eucharist and Reconciliation. I gave the talk and showed the film once
to my parishioners and since then I have been receiving invitations from
parishes far and near requesting me to come and talk on the Eucharist and show
them the film. The feedback I have been receiving from such talks has been
fantastic. In some places, I noticed some people going to the Blessed Sacrament
to adore immediately after the talks. Some come right away to me to ask for
confessions. Personally, I observed some people shedding tears as I give some
of the messages of love. I interpret some of those tears as tears of repentance.
As St. Paul
would say, the grace of God has not been in vain as I go round the parishes to
talk to the people about the messages of love which God is giving in our time.
In
October, I talked to over 150 young people who gathered for vocation rally in
our pastoral region. On the 6th/12/1999, I talked to over 750
members of the Sacred Heart of Jesus solidarity and showed them the film: Mary
Draws Us To The Eucharist. On the 13/12/1999, I talked to over 100 youth
gathered for their annual bible quiz competition which I organized. The talk
and the film made a deep impression on them. My prayer is that God will draw
many more people to the Eucharist and to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A
German visitor who listened to my talk on the Eucharist came to me and said a
few encouraging words. Could you send me the address of the person in charge of
organizing pilgrimages to Naju? Be assured of my prayerful support. Wishing you
the best in this new year.
Yours
in JMJ.
The renewal of our
Catholic Church will come from places like Naju
Fr.
Louis Bosmans, Pasp?iac, Qu?ec,
Canada
(February 2, 2000)
Dear
Mary's Touch By Mail,
I
don't remember if I sent you testimonies about our pilgrimage to Naju:
June–July 1999. We could follow all the happenings in Naju during that time
from 6 in the morning to 11 p.m. every day. And the deep and holy impressions
we got there are still lasting in our minds and souls, even today.
For
me it was the best way to know exactly what is going on in Naju: stay on the
spot for a long period of time to observe anything and everyone there, not to
spy on them but as a priest interested in observing the many graces the Lord
and his Holy Mother are bestowing upon the numerous persons who are coming and
praying there every day.
So,
I am absolutely convinced of the reality from what is happening at this blessed
place. Nowhere else have I seen such a serious devotion to the Lord and his
Holy Mother and with an enthusiasm that we, as Westerners, can hardly imagine,
but it is true and sincere.
I
am convinced that the renewal of our Catholic Church will come from places like
Naju where the supernatural is surrounding all the people who are coming there
with a simple and sincere heart. It is so beautiful and so encouraging to see
all those people, coming sometimes from far away, pushed not by curiosity but
by faith and confidence in the Love of the Lord and his Holy Mother.
I
had the occasion to bless personally hundreds of pilgrims and many of them
received the Repose in the Holy Spirit right there on the spot. It was a big
surprise for me and at the same time a great joy to experience the loving
intervention by Jesus and Mary for so many of their beloved children. So, if
you can use these testimonies, please do it at your convenience.
I
pray for you, your family and your work.
May
God bless you!
Many people have
been cured in Naju
Regina Cho, Mokpo,
Jeonnam Province, Korea (February 3, 2000)
Greetings!
I am Regina Cho from Mokpo City, Korea.
I have an elder sister in Busan.
She had been a Catholic much longer than myself, but was very negatively
prejudiced against Naju. She was probably influenced by her pastor, who was
strongly against Naju. She has become more and more interested, however,
because she has seen my life change gradually. So, I gave her the testimony
book, the message book, audio tapes, and the statues of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus and the Blessed Mother.
One
day, she told me on the phone that she had been healed of her backache. She had
been in bed for several days because of severe pains in her back. Casually, she
picked up the Naju testimony book and, as she was reading it, she cried a lot.
Then, she realized that her backache was gone.
She
later told me that she had smelled a strong fragrance of roses from the replica
statue of Our Lady of Naju, while praying before the statue. She began
attending the prayer meetings in Naju. She also repented of her hatred of her
mother-in-law. We went to the Blessed Mother's mountain together. At first, she
only drank a little of the water, saying that the water was too cold. However,
after watching me drink a lot, she also drank a lot. Then, she smelled the
fragrance of roses. Now, she prays a lot to the Blessed Mother of Naju. My
second elder sister also visits Naju frequently together with her children.
On
the First Saturday last December, I came to Naju together with a woman whose
children were away from the Church. She said that she had never cried in any of
the retreats that she had attended, but, in Naju, she wept so much, repenting
of what she had done to her son and daughter-in-law. She has been healed of her
osteoporosis after drinking the Naju water over a two-month period.
Another
woman had lost both her son and his wife and had been raising four
grandchildren. She had a serious complication in her womb. She needed a
surgery, but the doctors refused to operate on her because of her weak kidneys.
She visited Naju with me many times. She also drank the Naju water and was
completely healed in three months. She now can sit up straight and walk
normally, which she was not able to do because of the illness she had in her
womb.
There
is still another woman who had been unable to sleep because of a severe back
pain and kept crying all night. She came to the First Saturday prayer meeting
in Naju and did not complain about any pain. Now she does a lot of housework,
but does not have any back pain. Thank you, Lord and the Blessed Mother.
I had been crippled
for twenty years
Magdalene
Soon-Ae Chung, Gunsan, Jeonbuk
Province, Korea
(March 4, 2000)
I
am Magdalene Chung from Gunsan City in Korea. I came to Naju with other
parishioners, without much faith at first. I just followed them, because they
told me so much about Naju.
I
have been a Catholic for many years, but have not been sure whether God really
exists. After I came to Naju, I have become convinced of God's existence. I
have been crippled for the past twenty years. I have spent most of my time in
my room. The Pastor advised me not to force myself to come to church and
promised that he would bring Communion to my room. But I have been going to
church, supported by others. The doctors have suggested amputating my legs.
Actually, part of one leg was cut off and the remaining bones were connected
with nails. So, one leg is shorter than the other. While in Naju, I was able to
stand up and walk.
After
arriving in Naju, I was anxious to learn more about the fragrance, the place
where the Eucharist had landed, and so on, but I was only sitting at one place
and listening to what others were saying. While staying in the Chapel, one
woman gave me a message book. I was amazed by the contents of the book. Later,
I followed others to the Blessed Mother's mountain. It was totally beyond my
expectations, because I did not think that I could go as far as to the
mountain.
On
the mountain, people asked me to do the Stations of the Cross together with
them. I was reluctant at first, but thought that I could do it if I held the
hands of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. After finishing the Stations of the
Cross and while coming down the mountain, I suddenly felt that my legs were
touching the ground. Then, someone near me took my crutches and threw them
away. I thought that it was Jesus who did it. I said, Lord, I believe.
I felt that my legs were okay. I was almost beside myself. I did not feel any
pain in my legs any longer. I put on shoes and walked, but still did not feel
any pain. I also felt peaceful in my heart. I think I received spiritual
healing as well.
Then,
I was looking at the photographs of the Blessed Mother weeping tears and tears
of blood, which were on display in the back of the Chapel. I felt much pain in
my heart. I prayed, Mother, don't cry. Now, don't cry any more. I will pray
a lot. You are my true Mother. Don't cry any more. The man who was leading
prayers during the overnight prayer meeting said, The Blessed Mother has become
true Mother to all of us tonight. It was certainly true in my case. I
clearly saw what the Blessed Mother did for me, even though I am not able to
describe it well. I give this testimony, saying to the Blessed Mother, I
will not add anything; I will not subtract anything. I only testify what I
truly experienced. Thank you, Blessed Mother!
An image of the
Eucharist appeared again in the water from Naju
Mary
Yoo, Jeonju, Jeonbuk Province,
Korea (March 4, 2000)
My
name is Mary Yoo. I have visited Naju many times and, every time, brought water
from there to drink it at home. One day last January, I opened the container
with the water from Naju, and was surprised to see an image of the Eucharist
floating on the water. I was wondering, if I was mistaken, and called my
daughter-in-law. She came and screamed, Mother, there is the Eucharist in
water!
In
February, there was a meeting of nine people from our parish in our home. After
dinner, we opened the water container to drink some. Everyone was surprised to
see an image of the Eucharist floating on water.
Susanna
Chung, a lady I have known, had a cancer in her gums and was told by her
doctors that she only had two more months to live. The cancer spread, even
causing some pus to flow from her nostrils. I brought some of the Naju water to
her in hospital and asked her to drink it. She was cured on the same day. Thank
you, Lord and the Blessed Mother!
Our Lord and the
Blessed Mother gave our family such a grace and love
Elizabeth
Chun, Busan, Korea (April 2, 2000)
My
name is Elizabeth Chun in Busan,
Korea. I first
visited Naju on the First Saturday in January 1992. I had been a lukewarm
Catholic, attending Mass on Sundays only. I had been living in sins, hating my
husband. While I was praying in the Blessed Mother's House in Naju, I suddenly
began remembering my past vividly as if I was watching a movie, and began
weeping. I prayed, Mother, I am sorry. It has all been my fault. Forgive
this sinner and help me love my husband. At that moment, I smelled a
strong fragrance of roses. The fragrance followed me wherever I went. I
continued smelling it in the bathroom, in the car on the highway, and even at
home in Busan.
Since
then, there have been many changes in my family. We were so poor that it was
difficult for us to cover the education expenses for the children. But my
husband got a new job with a better pay. A friend of my husband noticed
something was wrong with my husband's neck and pressed him to visit a doctor.
The doctor examined him and said that an inflammation of the thyroid glands had
been neglected so long that it had even penetrated the bones in his neck and
that a surgery was necessary. My husband and I set the date for the surgery and
were coming home. On the way home, both of us smelled a strong fragrance of
roses three times. On the day of the surgery, while I was praying the rosary
outside the operating room, I again smelled the fragrance of roses which filled
the hallway in the hospital. My husband was supposed to stay in the hospital
for two weeks, but the recovery was fast and he was dismissed in six days.
Afterwards,
my whole family visited the Blessed Mother's House in Naju. Through the Blessed
Mother's love and grace, my husband and two daughters received instructions and
were baptized and confirmed. We had lived in a rented room, but now we own a
small apartment.
Also,
my father-in-law had a major surgery because of his stomach cancer. Large
portions of his stomach and esophagus had to be removed. Despite his age (70),
the surgery was successful through the Blessed Mother's help. He continued
improving and did not have to receive radiation treatment even once. He had
always been against the Catholic Faith. I prayed hard during his surgery. After
the surgery, I gave him the miraculous water from Naju without telling him
about it. He drank it.
He
became ill again in February 2000, unable to eat or even drink anything. He was
hospitalized and got intravenous injections for about 20 days. I went to Naju
on the First Saturday in March and prayed, Mother, help my father-in-law
receive the Sacrament of Baptism. Open his heart, please. Afterwards, he
changed his mind and began trusting the Blessed Mother. After I explained about
the water from Naju, he drank it. This water was the first thing that he drank
in twenty days.
Later,
he was able to eat some soup and agreed to be baptized. Both he and my
mother-in-law promised to attend the instruction class. He now places the
Crucifix, which he had hated so much, on his pillow and always has a rosary in
his hand. He also wears a scapular around his neck and becomes overjoyed when I
bring more water from Naju. He listens to recordings of hymns and Scripture
readings. He says, One must empty his heart. He has really changed.
I
am deeply grateful to Our Lord and the Blessed Mother who gave our family such
a great grace and love. I wish the Lord's peace to all who read my poorly
written testimony.
Who can understand
the joy in the heart of a mother who feeds porridge to her son who was dead?
Juliana
Kyung-Rim Chung, Incheon, Korea (April 10, 2000)
I
am Juliana Kyung-Rim Chung and belong to the Suknam-dong Parish in the Inchon
Diocese. I have one daughter and one son. I would like to give testimony to a
miraculous restoration of health to my son, on whom his doctors had given up.
While he was drinking milk during lunch at school, some of the milk went down
the bronchial tube, making him unable to breathe for a long time. Doctors gave
up any hope, but he recovered after drinking the water from Naju.
On
December 14, 1999, I was told on the phone by one of my son's teachers that my
son, Sehyun, a second grader, had collapsed. The teacher gave me the name of
the hospital where my son was. I was out of my mind, but managed to arrive at
the hospital. My son was being carried into an ambulance to be moved to a
larger hospital. He had some hoses in his nostrils. His eyes were open, but
were not moving at all.
I
became aware of the possibility of losing my son. When I called my husband and
told him, he could not believe it, saying,Don't play a joke like that on
me! The ambulance arrived at the largest hospital in Incheon. The doctor and nurse who came with my
son in the ambulance told the doctors at the larger hospital that my son was
dead even before his arrival at their hospital. Overhearing this, I felt as if
the sky were falling down upon me and as if I were walking toward hell. In the
emergency room, they treated my son with electric shock repeatedly, but there
was no response. There were no readings on the computer screen, either. He was
medically dead. However, I did not give up hope and, together with my husband
and my son's teacher, waited anxiously for the result of further examinations.
At
about 6 p.m., the doctor came out and asked me if I had other children. He said
that I had better give up. Hearing this, everything became dark. I could not
see anything. I began crying loudly. I pleaded with the doctors to keep my son
alive. The doctors had already given up on my son, but, because of my
insistence, they connected some life-sustaining equipment to my son, inserting
two hoses into my son's nostrils and another hose into his mouth. At about 7
p.m., they moved him to an intensive-care unit next to the morgue. This unit,
however, was where patients who had no hope for recovery were placed. There,
patients were kept alive only by artificial means. It was only a waiting room
before going to the morgue. Some of the patients were making sounds of rattling
in their throats. Hospital workers repeatedly moved dead patients to the
morgue. I had never seen so many dead people. I was not scared, because the
only thought that occupied my mind was my son's recovery. At first I had been
overwhelmed by sadness and despair, but it was gradually turning into more
resolve and hope for my son's recovery. It was a bitter fight with death. I
could not eat anything.
Two
days later, on December 16, a lay leader in my parish, who had been to Naju
several times, brought holy water and a 1.8-liter bottle containing the
miraculous water from Naju. He sprayed the holy water on my son and around him
and poured a small quantity of the miraculous water into the mouth of my son,
who was still unconscious. He drank the water, however, without spilling any.
It was a miracle! It was truly a miracle! I saw him drink the water without
spilling any of it. My husband came and held Sehyun's hand and said, If you
know it is Daddy, hold my hand tightly. Then, Sehyun did hold his father's
hand with some grip for a while. Oh, my son is alive again! I thanked
the Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju.
The
next day, I went to the intensive-care unit together with my husband and we
were told by the nurse that our son's condition had improved somewhat. We
frequently gave him the water from Naju and prayed. In the afternoon, I was
overjoyed when I heard Sehyun say he was hungry. It was like a dream! The nurse
brought some porridge. Who can understand the joy in the heart of a mother who
feeds porridge to her son who was dead? The doctors were also amazed not only
by the restoration of my son's vital signs but also by his fast recovery. They
said that they had no medical explanation.
On
December 20, Sehyun was out of danger and out of the intensive-care unit. He
now ate ordinary food instead of porridge. After meals and when taking
medicine, he was drank the miraculous water from Naju.
On
December 25, Christmas Day, he was discharged from the hospital. Immediately,
we went to the church. In the church, children were presenting a Christmas
carol concert. Our daughter played the violin and sang in the choir. Sehyun was
happy to see all this, smiling all the time. Many of the parishioners came and
congratulated Sehyun.
The
Pastor also came and said, It is significant that you were dead for three
days and, then, were discharged from the hospital on Christmas. The doctor
and nurse at the smaller hospital, where Sehyun had been treated first, also
were amazed and congratulated Sehyun.
After
Sehyun's recovery, he developed an allergy as an aftereffect of the incident.
He scratched himself a lot at night. So, I took Sehyun to Naju on the First
Saturday in April. On the way back, after attending the overnight prayer
meeting, Sehyun said that he had never prayed so much. I was happy about the
way he was thinking. He also said, People go to Naju for surgery in their
hearts. Through this surgery they can get rid of all the bad things in their
hearts and have only good things in their hearts. After the trip, his
condition improved a lot and he has been sleeping well at night.
After
my son's recovery, I myself have also changed. Before, I had been reluctant to
do any work in the parish, but now I have a more positive attitude, saying, Lord,
if it is Your Will, use me as Your instrument. My husband used to miss
Sunday Masses when he was busy with his work. Now, he not only does not miss
Sunday Masses but also goes to early-morning Masses on weekdays. He also prays
before driving. Blessed Mother of Naju! Please protect our Sehyun! Thank you
so much.
The water from Naju
was really the Blessed Mother's
milk!
Joanna

Praise
be to Jesus! Praise be to the Blessed Mother!
I
am Joanna Lim in the Woonnam-dong Parish in Kwangju
City in Korea. I have five children. I have
received so many graces from the Blessed Mother of Naju, but would like to
introduce just one of them here.
Several
days ago, my eldest son was feeling hot after playing outside our home and
asked for cold water. I opened the refrigerator to give him some of the water
from Naju, but could not find any left in the refrigerator. To cool some water
quickly, I poured some of the Naju water into a stainless steel bowl and put it
in the freezer. Then, I completely forgot about it and only remembered two days
later. The water was completely frozen. So, I put it in the refrigerator so
that the ice might melt. Then, I forgot about it again and three days later I
remembered that I had put it in the refrigerator. While taking the water out of
the refrigerator, I thought that, because the water was not covered, it must
have absorbed food odor and that I would use it to water plants. To my
surprise, the water was not clear but milky. The Blessed Mother's water from Naju
had turned into Her Milk! I felt that the Blessed Mother was telling me, This
is Mommy's Milk. Do not waste even a drop. My husband and children were
amazed also. We prayed and sang together, With the Precious Blood of Jesus,
with the Precious Blood of Jesus, heal our souls and bodies. Amen. Then,
we drank all of the Milk, thanking the Lord and the Blessed Mother.
My
breast milk has been insufficient for my babies. So, I have supplemented it
with cow's milk. Now, I give my children the Blessed Mother's Milk also in
addition to my breast milk and cow's milk. While I feed the baby, I pray, Lord,
I am feeding my baby with my milk (or cow's milk). Turn it into the Blessed
Mother's Milk so that the baby may grow well spiritually and physically. I
compared the Blessed Mother Milk with my own breast milk. They looked exactly
the same. I think that, because we were drinking the Blessed Mother's water
without gratitude, She showed us that Her water was really Her own Milk.
Glory
be to the Lord! Praise be to the Blessed Mother! Amen. Alleluia.
Letter from Zambia
Dearest
Mary's Touch By Mail,
I
received your wonderful parcel some time back and I cannot find words to thank
you for the gifts of books, leaflets and Holy cards. You know what? The Message
of Naju is the Message of Life. The message comes very quickly to someone's
heart at the very initial Mary's Touch. Most Christians here tell me they need
more materials—books, magazines, scapulars, leaflets, holy cards, and videos
about the Message of Love from the Virgin Mary in Naju. One day, our local
bishop remarked: This is a very good teaching device. He was referring
to the videos of Our Lady's Message of Love at Naju.
The
materials are well loved by Christians here. The manifestations of God's love
for mankind the Virgin Mary is bringing to us all through Julia Kim at Naju
must be received with one heart by all Christians—who love God throughout the
world. . . . .
We
love you very much. God bless you abundantly. Yours
in the Love of Mary,

I was given a new
life in my soul through my daughter's suffering
Michael
Hong, Hwasung, Gyeonggi Province,
Korea (February
3, 2001)
I
had been a fallen-away Catholic for more than ten years, but, earlier this
year, thanks to the special graces from the Blessed Mother of Naju, I was
called back to the Church, regained my faith, and was given a new life in my
dead soul. I am so grateful.
In
January of this year, my elder sister fell down from stairs while going to a
karaoke bar and died of a cerebral concussion. Soon afterwards, my daughter
became sick. On February 28, she was hospitalized for tests, and was diagnosed
with a brain tumor. Watching her struggle with so much pain and being unable to
do anything to help her, I felt as though my blood were drying up, and I
prayed, “Lord, if Thou hast to take her away, please take her soon so that
she may suffer less.?My wife and I began a novena prayer. Because my wife
was a lay leader in the parish, many parishioners visited our home and prayed
for our daughter. While we were offering the nine-day rosary prayers, I
realized, for the first time in my 45-year life, the true depth of parental
love. One day when several parishioners were visiting our home and praying, one
lady who had been making pilgrimages to Naju said, “I smell an intense odor
of something burning. Is there some food burning in the kitchen? My wife
went to the kitchen and then looked around the house, but could not find
anything burning. At that moment, I came home from work and smelled some
disgusting odor as if a corpse were burning. The lady who had been making
pilgrimages to Naju said that it probably was the odor of burning the devils.
This intense odor was smelled on two occasions during the parishioners?visit
and prayer that day.
Several
days later, the lady who had been making pilgrimages to Naju gave us a color
photograph of the Blessed Mother's statue in Naju. We smelled a strong
fragrance of roses from it. Also when we touched the Blessed Mother's hands on
her replica statue, her hands moved up and down and sideways. Our daughter also
saw in her dream a white dove, representing the Holy Spirit, flying into her
room through the window. After these experiences, we became certain that our
daughter would soon receive the grace of healing.
Also,
during the six months of her illness, medical bills accumulated totaling more
than twenty million won (about twenty thousand U.S. dollars). We were able to
pay this amount with the money I received from a settlement over a traffic
accident that I was involved in last year (September 2000). Because my wounds
healed quickly without any aftereffects, most of that money was available to
pay my daughter's medical bills. We saw a pre-arrangement by the Lord in this
matter.
Thus,
through the pains that our daughter suffered, the Blessed Mother of Naju
awakened our souls. My wife and I regained the faith through our daughter's
sufferings. Now we are trying to be true Catholics who do not offer prayers in
superficial ways but really work on sanctifying their family and spreading the
love from the Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju to others. As somebody
explained during his testimony at a retreat in our diocese, the devil really
works hard to harm people and incapacitate their souls. I was also overjoyed
when I heard a priest speak very favorably on Naju in his homily during a Mass
at a Catholic shrine.
Fragrant oil was
flows down again from the Blessed Mother's forehead

I
arrived at the Blessed Mother's House in Naju at about 1:20 p.m. on March 12, 2001. After
praying for a while before the Blessed Mother's statue, I got permission from a
volunteer worker in the Chapel to take photographs of the Blessed Mother's
statue with the glass cover removed. While taking photographs, I noticed the
Blessed Mother's forehead and left eye sparkling. When I looked more closely, I
saw fragrant oil flowing from her forehead. I was so surprised that I made the
Sign of the Cross and asked others to come and see. Sister Monica Choi and
about ten other people came closer and saw the fragrant oil. The oil continued
flowing down to the Blessed Mother's chin, to her chest, and to her feet. More
people gathered in the Chapel, which became filled with fragrance. Some were
screaming with amazement and others were weeping. I took photographs of this
phenomenon from different angles; other pilgrims also took photographs and
videotaped. Right now, at 5:30
p.m. on March 12, 2001, the fragrant oil is still flowing down and
a powerful fragrance is filling the Chapel. Oh! Blessed be the Lord! Thank you
so much, Blessed Mother!
Testimony by other
witnesses
At
about 2:10 p.m.
on March 12, 2001, we saw fragrant oil exuding from the Blessed Mother's
forehead and flowing down to her face, her dress and mantle, and her feet. We
smelled an intense fragrance. We also saw some bleeding from the Blessed
Mother's left nostril. While we are giving this testimony, more people came and
witnessed the fragrant oil which is now covering the Blessed Mother's whole statue.

At
about 2:10 p.m.
on March 12, 2001, a man from Seoul
asked me, I would like to take good photographs of the Blessed Mother's
statue. Could you please open the protective glass window??I telephoned
Julia who had been out of town for several days and got her permission to open
the glass window. A while later, the man, who was taking photographs, suddenly
began weeping and said to me, The Blessed Mother seems to be exuding
fragrant oil. Could you take a look and confirm this? I was surprised and
went closer to the Blessed Mother's statue. I immediately recognized that the
Blessed Mother was shedding fragrant oil. The oil was flowing down from the top
of the Blessed Mother's head and forehead. It was flowing down on the Blessed
Mother's face to both sides of her nose, to the area between her nose and her
lips, to her lips, and to her chin. The oil was forming a drop under the chin
and, then, continued flowing down to her dress and her feet. There was
especially much oil between her left eye and nose.
From
about 2:30 p.m.,
there was some bleeding from the Blessed Mother's left nostril. When I looked
again at 2:45 p.m.,
the Blessed Mother's whole statue was wet with fragrant oil and some drops of
blood were visible on her forehead. The left bottom of her veil became wet with
blood, which was forming an image of the letter “V? The hems of her mantle on
the left side were also wet with blood. The Blessed Mother's lower belly and
right leg were bulging as if they were swollen.
When
I was about to close the glass window, a tiny piece of fabric fell on the left
side of the Blessed Mother's statue. I looked closely and saw that it was a
piece of coarse fabric. About one third of it was permeated with blood. More
than thirty people witnessed this phenomenon, and I hereby state that my
testimony is true.

At
about 2:15 p.m.
on March 12, 2001, I personally witnessed the flowing of fragrant oil on the
Blessed Mother's statue in the Chapel in Naju. The fragrant oil began exuding
from the top of the Blessed Mother's forehead and flowed down to the area
around her left eye and her nose, and to her lips. The oil formed a drop under
her chin. The oil continued flowing down to the inside and outside of the Blessed
Mother's mantle. I should say that almost all of the Blessed Mother's statue
was wet with fragrant oil. The Chapel became completely filled with an intense
fragrance. I also saw some bleeding under the Blessed Mother's nose.
It
was the first time that I ever saw fragrant oil flowing on the Blessed Mother's
statue. I smelled the intense fragrance from the oil and experienced the
presence of the Blessed Mother. I thank the Blessed Mother of Naju for allowing
me this tremendous grace. I was deeply moved in the depths of my heart, which
is still continuing. Thank you, Blessed Mother of Naju!

I
arrived at the Chapel at about 2:10 p.m. on March 12, 2001. While I was walking toward
the front of the Chapel to greet the Blessed Mother, I was told that a pilgrim
from Seoul was
taking photographs of the Blessed Mother who was exuding fragrant oil. I looked
at the Blessed Mother's statue closely and saw the fragrant oil. It was flowing
down to both sides of her nose and to her lips and was forming a drop under her
chin. I was very surprised and continued looking at the phenomenon closely. The
oil was flowing down on both sides of the Blessed Mother's nose, but the
quantity was greater on the left side. Much oil was flowing down on her left
shoulder, continuing down to her dress and mantle and to her feet. Her whole
statue was wet with fragrant oil. A while later some blood appeared under her
left nostril, but did not flow down. What surprised me even more was that
bloody fragrant oil was flowing from her forehead down to her chest and mantle
and to her dress on the right side.
The
piece of fabric that descended suddenly in front of the Blessed Mother's statue
seemed to have been woven with coarse threads. On this piece of fabric, there
was an image of the letter "V" formed by blood. To this fabric was attached
another little piece of white fabric. I smelled the fragrance of roses from
this fabric and, later, a strong odor of fragrant oil.
The Eucharistic
miracles through Julia are becoming known in Italy
Judy
Navarrete, Los Angeles, California (May 31, 2001)
I
am pleased to report on an experience I had while on vacation in Italy
this May with a few pilgrims.
Part
of our itinerary was to visit San Giovanni Rotondo and St. Michael's Cave. A
church has been built above St. Michael's Cave, and, within the church, there
is a small exhibit room. At this time there was an exhibit of many of the
approved Eucharistic miracles which have occurred in the Church over the
centuries. My joy and surprise was to see the Eucharistic miracle which
occurred to Julia when she was visiting the Vatican. There was a short
explanation in Italian next to the pictures, and the tour guide explained what
was stated. The miracle initially had not been made public by the Vatican
but now it approved that the miracle be shown. The pictures showed that the Pope
had witnessed the Eucharistic miracle and had given Julia his blessing.
This
was not all. On the TV in all of Italy a series on different
miracles was going to be shown every Saturday. The first of the series was the
Eucharistic miracles of Naju. A one-hour TV show was aired on Saturday, May 19,
throughout Italy.
According to our tour guide this would not be aired if the Vatican had not given the approval since the
Pope would be part of the documentary with the miracle at the Vatican of October 31, 1995.
Unfortunately
our group was not in Italy
on May 19, and was not able to see the documentary. According to a friend of
ours who came from Germany
and saw the program, a priest from the Vatican was interviewed in the TV
show. This is what she heard him say: “We in the Church are very discreet,
cautious and thorough on such matters. In the case of Naju, the Holy Father
himself has become a witness, and Julia, who has been receiving the messages
and pains, has been leading a simple and humble life.
I
believe in Our Lord and Our Lady's presence in Naju as well as the different
miracles which have occurred to Julia. Time and again I come across persons who
tell me, “Naju has not been approved. This does not diminish my belief
but I realize how little faith people have in God's beautiful love for them,
which is indeed sad. Here again in all of Italy people would witness the
Eucharistic miracles of Naju via TV. I know many were touched and hope and pray
that more will come to believe in the true presence of Our Lord in the
Eucharist.
Our
Lady has asked us to be witnesses and to stand firm beside her as she will
triumph. This TV presentation in Italy to me is a confirmation that
her triumph is taking place. She just needs our support and prayers.
Our
Lord and Our Lady have asked us many times to urgently spread the messages and
for us to open our hearts widely and believe in His Real Presence. I truly hope
those who have heard about Naju and have become lukewarm will return to being
true apostles of Our Lord and continue to spread their messages of love. We all
need to be obedient, but to whom? The Holy Father is God's representative to
all Catholics here on earth and “we, bishops, priests, and lay people need to
be obedient to him first and foremost. The Vatican has approved the exhibit
and was aware of the documentary on TV. I am not the only witness to this,
either. We all need a great deal of prayers because the devil is really trying
to divide us as a church.
For
the next few days we prepare ourselves for the Feast of the Holy Spirit, the
Pentecost. Let's pray that He come into all those cold, hard hearts that refuse
to believe in Our Lady and Our Lord's presence in Naju.
Translation of text of display:
Eucharistic Miracle
in the Holy See—Rome:
1995
Sacred Host on the tongue is
converted into flesh and blood
The
Lord manifested this marvelous Eucharistic miracle before the eyes of John Paul
II; rather, he was one of the main participants of the supernatural phenomenon.
On October 31, 1995, the Pontiff celebrated Holy Mass at 7:30 a.m. in his private chapel.
Those present, by invitation, were some pilgrims, among whom were Msgr.
Dionysio Paik, Secretary of the Bishops?Conference of South Korea; the
seminarian Raphael Song; and Julia Youn, her husband, and their daughter, all
of South Korea.
This
Julia is the mystic of Naju, where in a chapel she receives messages from the
Virgin Mary, in which the Pontiff has shown interest. Also present was Msgr.
Vincent Thu (Vietnamese), private secretary of the Holy Father. During
Communion, Julia received the Host from the hands of the Pontiff, but was not
able to swallow It, for It began to swell and to taste of blood. Then she
opened her mouth to Msgr. Paik, who saw the Host converted into live flesh and
blood. John Paul II was surprised and observed the phenomenon and then lovingly
blessed the mystic.
The
Eucharistic phenomenon, although discussed among those present, was kept secret
for about two years, to avoid any sensationalistic clamors.
Abortion is murder
Anastasia
Hyang-Ran Koh, Bucheon, Gyeonggi
Province, Korea
(August 4, 2001)
Most
of the young couples who do not know about the Blessed Mother of Naju practice
artificial contraception after they have their desired number of children. If
they find themselves with more children conceived against their intention, they
spontaneously resort to abortions. Of course, before I became a Catholic, I
myself was accepting that as quite normal. I did not know that abortion was a
sin. When I was preparing to be baptized in the Catholic Church one year prior
to marriage, I was taught the natural way of family planning.
After
marriage, we had two children. Then, I suddenly found myself pregnant with a
third child. Because we did not want any more children, we were very worried.
My husband strongly insisted on abortion, but I did not think that I could
abort my own child. While agonizing about this problem, I learned that Julia
Kim was coming to speak at a retreat at our parish church. It was my first
retreat after I became a Catholic.
During
the retreat, Julia told the audience that, according to the Blessed Mother's
message, abortion was murder. Thanks to the graces I received during this
retreat, I was able to accept my third child naturally. I became so encouraged
by the Blessed Mother's message that I was able to tell my husband that I would
not do abort the child even if it meant divorce. Objections and criticisms
around me continued, but I listened to the audiotape of the messages every day
and finally gave a birth to my third child without any complication.
After
that, I frequently told young expecting mothers about the Blessed Mother's
message and the seriousness of abortions. Many of them have tests, fearing that
their children might be deformed. I know one case where the test showed that
the baby lacked much of its brain (anencephaly), and the baby was aborted in
the third or fourth month of pregnancy. So I play the message tape from Naju to
many young expecting mothers and encourage them to entrust everything to the
Lord and the Blessed Mother and give birth to their babies.
After
I had my third baby, I became pregnant again. One of the nurses at the hospital
called me a barbarian, but I did give birth to my fourth child. People
around me continued to give me cold eyes and criticizing words, which sometimes
made me depressed, but I was easily able to overcome them since I knew the
Blessed Mother of Naju. Now, the more criticisms I hear, the more courageous I
become, confronting them with a renewed determination: “I am willing to give
birth to ten babies or maybe twenty. Now I have six children. Some people
advise me to start practicing contraception, but I do not even imagine that,
remembering the Blessed Mother's message that she was suffering so much in her
Heart because of the unlimited contraception in the world.
Especially
when those women who are in their forties become pregnant, they do not hesitate
to have abortions, committing the terrible sins of cruelly murdering innocent
lives. There are just too many such people around me.
I
ask all the sisters who know the Blessed Mother of Naju: If you know any
persons who are pregnant in their late years and are considering abortion,
please tell them about the Blessed Mother's message and encourage them to give
birth to their babies. How sad it would be if we stop spreading the messages
and keep hiding the graces we have received simply because Naju is under
persecution! Let us have total confidence in the Blessed Mother and bravely
give testimony to the graces we have received. That way we can share with our
neighbors the graces from the Blessed Mother. Let us pray for one another and
courageously try to make the graces from the Blessed Mother known.
She can now walk
without a cane
Gawamoto Gatsuko, Japan (August 4, 2001)
Praise
Jesus! Truly amazing miracles of healing have been happening to those of us who
made a pilgrimage to Naju on June 5, 2001. We are immensely grateful to the
Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju.
First,
Araikoko had to rely on a cane for many years, but, since her return from Naju,
she has been leading a normal life without the cane. All of us are so moved by
this tremendous grace from the Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju. Araikoko
can now walk to many places where she could only go by car before. One day
while she was walking, she felt a palpitation of her heart, but as soon as she
drank some of the water from the Blessed Mother's spring in Naju, singing, “With
the Precious Blood of Jesus, with the Precious Blood of Jesus, heal all our
souls and bodies. Amen, she was able to arrive home without any further
difficulty. Now, not only is she able to walk without a cane, but her walking
posture has also become normal. Before, because of her bent legs, her walking
was not normal.
I
am sixty years old and work at a rehabilitation center for the handicapped. For
many years, I suffered from hay fever, pains and numbness in the hands and
arms, and a backache, and tried many treatments that only helped temporarily,
less than a year. Since my first pilgrimage to Naju several years ago, the
pains in my hands and arms have not recurred at all. I am certain that this has
been a miraculous healing through the graces from the Blessed Mother of Naju. I
am overwhelmed with gratitude.
Because
we have experienced these amazing graces and healings, we feel very painful in
our hearts when we think about the persecutions that the Blessed Mother of Naju
has been receiving. However, all the true shrines were eventually approved
despite the initial prohibitions and persecutions. We have no doubt that the
Blessed Mother of Naju will be approved. In the Name of the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit, we join our hands and pray that the Bishop of Kwangju will
accept the Blessed Mother of Naju and approve her as soon as possible so that
Naju may become a shrine for the whole world. Amen.
A great love from
the Blessed Mother that I cannot keep to myself
Theresa
Hyun-Sook Lee, Busan, Korea (September 2, 2001)
I
have been making pilgrimages to Naju for the past six years. During that time,
I have received many graces of healing. Today, I would like to share with you
the graces of healing that my son and I received this year.
My
second child was born in January of this year, but, from the fifth day after
birth, the baby's belly became bloated and he also had diarrhea. I took the
baby to a doctor, and the doctor said that the baby had weak intestines and
should be fed special-formula milk. For the next seven months, I fed him
special-formula milk, but there was no improvement. Then, at my mother's
suggestion, I began mixing milk with the water from the Blessed Mother's spring
in Naju. Since then, the baby's condition improved a lot.
The
baby also had external hemorrhoids, which were festering. Because of this, he
had difficulty in moving the bowels. To a seven month-old child, it was an
excessive suffering. After examination, the doctor suggested surgery.
Then,
on August 15, when I was at the spring on the Blessed Mother's mountain in
Naju, I suddenly began smelling a strong odor of oriental herbal medicine from
the water. I was surprised because people often smell the fragrance of roses
from the water. Then, my elder sister, standing beside me, said, "Ah!
Perhaps, the Blessed Mother is healing your baby! Soon after we came back
from Naju, I took the baby to the doctor again. The doctor said that the
symptoms disappeared completely and there was no need for surgery. I became
convinced that it was the Blessed Mother who healed my baby.
For
the whole month of July this year, I had severe hemorrhages and went to a hospital.
The doctor said that I had uterine cancer with a lump about one and a half
inches wide. He suggested surgery two months later.
Then,
I came to Naju and attended an overnight prayer meeting. In the middle of the
prayer meeting, the man who was leading the meeting said that Julia was
undergoing a severe suffering. From his description of Julia's pains, I knew
that Julia was suffering the same pains as mine. Only three or four minutes
later, I began feeling very difficult as if I were giving birth to a baby and
also had a severely queasy feeling. I went to the back of the Chapel and leaned
against the wall until the prayer meeting was over.
After
I came home from Naju, I immediately went to the hospital. To my great surprise
and joy, the doctor said that the lump, which was there just a few days
earlier, disappeared completely. At that moment, I knew that the Blessed Mother
healed me. Since then, I have not had any hemorrhage and am leading an active,
healthy life. I wanted to share this with all of you, because it was a great
love from the Blessed Mother that I could not keep to myself. I hope that all
of you also receive much love and grace from the Blessed Mother. Amen.
Thank you, Blessed Mother, for delivering my
brother from the devil of
alcoholism
Susanna Young-Hwa
Park, Seoul, Korea
(September 2, 2001)
Praise
Jesus! I myself have received countless graces from the Blessed Mother of Naju,
but today I would like to share with you the grace that my younger brother
received.
My
brother had been an alcoholic for seventeen years until recently. Many people
around him as well as he himself had suffered so much because of it. On those
days when he got drunk and behaved in disorderly ways, not only his own home
but also his whole neighborhood was greatly disturbed because of the noise he
was making and even the property damages he sometimes caused. Even several of
his fellow parishioners had a hard time trying to restrain him.
I
made many efforts to help him. I prayed every day and fasted during Lent for
him, but he did not change.
This
year I was again offering six consecutive novenas of rosary prayers for him.
While continuing the novena prayers, I visited Naju in May of this year. I
began praying the rosary before the Blessed Mother's statue on the mountain in
Naju, and, suddenly, smelled an intense odor of soju (a Korean liquor),
of which I was so sick and tired because I had smelled it so many times for so
many years. Thinking that somebody who really liked to drink was drinking again
even on the Blessed Mother's mountain, I looked around, but there was nobody
else on the mountain. I was amazed and continued to pray, but the strong odor
of soju continued. While meditating on the Glorious Mysteries of the
rosary, I could clearly see in my mind the Blessed Mother standing, trampling
the serpent under her feet. At that moment, I became certain that the Blessed
Mother captured the devil of drunkenness and was trampling him under her feet.
I offered up a prayer of thanksgiving, “Thank you, Blessed Mother, for
delivering my brother from the devil of alcoholism. When I came home, I
saw my brother really not drinking alcoholic beverages any more. He discontinued
it completely. It was a miracle! I was totally convinced that it was a grace
from the Blessed Mother.
Glory
to the Lord and praise and gratitude to the Blessed Mother! Amen.
I was so amazed and
overjoyed that I felt like flying
in the sky!

Our
first child is now a freshman in high school. For seventeen years since her
birth, we have not had any more children. We had tests in the hospital and
tried many things to have another baby, but they were of no use. Sometimes my
body displayed signs similar to those of pregnancy, but tests showed no
pregnancy. For some years already we had given up any hope.
Then,
I began making pilgrimages to Naju, and sometimes said to the Blessed Mother
that I wished to have another child. One day I suddenly felt tired and sick,
and went to a hospital, not even imagining the possibility of being pregnant.
To my great surprise, the doctor said that I had been pregnant for eight weeks.
Then, the doctor showed me the baby on an ultrasound scan. The baby was waving
its hands! I was so amazed and overjoyed that I felt like flying in the sky.
As
I walked out of the hospital filled with joy, some anxiety nevertheless began
sweeping over my mind, because I was already in my late childbearing years and
had not had a baby for seventeen years since the birth of my first child.
However, I remembered the Blessed Mother's messages about abortion and the
image of the baby waving its hands in my womb that I just saw. I realized
deeply that aborting a baby would be no different from murdering a precious
life. I also thought about the terrible pains that babies go through during
abortions. So, I became convinced that this baby was a great gift from the Lord
and the Blessed Mother of Naju, and was deeply grateful to Them.
The
baby grew healthily in my womb thanks to the graces from the Lord and the
Blessed Mother of Naju. In the seventh month, I was hoping that the Pastor
would name the baby. One day, without being asked, the Pastor asked me when I
expected delivery. After hearing my answer, he said, “If the baby is a son,
name him Justus. If a daughter, name her Justina. I was overjoyed again
and thanked the Blessed Mother, thinking that she sees everything in my heart.
For
three months before delivery, I could not make pilgrimages to Naju. I was so
eager to see the Blessed Mother, but offered it up as a sacrifice. About one
month before delivery, I received the great grace of seeing the Blessed Mother
of Naju in my dream.
The
baby was born healthy and is growing well. This baby was born seventeen years
after the first child, but, whenever I look at the baby, I realize how much the
Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju love my family, and feel so grateful to
Them.
Letter from Bishop
Roman Danylak to Mrs. C?ilia Pohl
in Germany
November 16, 2001
Dear Madame Pohl,
I
thank you for your kind letter of concern with the way events are unfolding
around the messages and miraculous signs from Our Lord and Our Lady through
Julia Kim. I have been away from Rome
these past seven months. I had returned to Canada for medical reasons, and it
is only last Sunday that I returned to the eternal city.
Your
concerns are shared by many in the Catholic Church, first those in their native
Korea, and around the entire
globe from the far east and through the Americas. We know the reasons for
this, the progressive liberal attitude of the younger Korean clergy that are
dictating church policy to their bishops. This is a crisis that is pervading
the entire Catholic Church, and not only the issues of Julia Kim and other visionaries,
but addresses the issues of our Catholic Faith and the Christian life,
especially the life of the family and the education of children. The crisis
began during Vatican Council II, and infected all the ranks of society;
especially in the technologically advanced countries of Western Europe, the Americas and the Far East.
It is taking on frightening proportions. Our Lord forewarned us of this in the
Gospel. Who knows when the Son of Man returns, will he still find faith? The
faith is being rejected even by those who continue to call themselves Catholic.
This
is why Our Lord is now entering in the affairs of men. An awesome sign is the
disaster of September 11. As the Lord admonished through some of His
messengers: this is the beginning of the chastisement of the world for the sins
of abortion and the many others against life. Jesus did not blow up the towers.
He is a God of life, not of death. And at the very beginning God gave us His
commandment “Do not kill. But as we learn from the Old Testament and from
history, He is present in the affairs of men, and uses even the folly of men to
chastise and purify.
The
Holy Father and the Vatican
are very much aware of the world situation in the Catholic Church; and the Holy
Father knew of the miracle with Julia Kim of which he himself was a witness,
even though the Vatican
and the Holy Father dissimulated about their knowledge of the Eucharistic
miracle for several years.
As
Mary's Touch informs us, the Holy Father addressed the issue of the Naju
miracles directly with the Korean bishops in March 2001 during their
quinquennial visit to Rome.
. . The latest now is that he and Cardinal Ratzinger are becoming more directly
involved in this issue, for they realize its importance as a voice of heaven.
The new archbishop of Kwangju
is continuing to submit to the pressures of his priests. It appears that the Vatican
will now take a more direct stance.
Secondly,
in these past months knowledge of these miracles has become publicly acclaimed
in Rome and Italy,
and also in Mexico
and Guadalupe. And in Canada
and the U.S.A.
there is a lively interest growing, notwithstanding the reticence of the local
bishops. No one can continue to hide or to dissimulate about the voice of
Heaven. There is no need for you to organize intervention with the Holy See,
because it is fully appraised of the situation, and is now beginning to act.
What
we must continue to do is to make these miracles and messages, given through
Julia, more known throughout the world. You can now speak more boldly of it,
because the Holy Father has finally acknowledged the miracles. And more
importantly we must firmly believe that heaven is involved and will not allow
even priests and bishops to frustrate the work of our Lord and the Blessed
Mother.
Please
accept my sincerest thanks for your devotion to the truth about Naju and its
miracles and messages.
I
remain
Respectfully
yours in the Lord and the Blessed Mother

My business crisis
was overcome and my wife's crooked nose became straight
Valentino
Hyun-Man Shin, Seoul, Korea (December 9, 2001)
Good
evening! I am Valentino Shin from Seoul.
First, I thank the Blessed Mother for helping me stand here (in the Chapel) to
testify for her.
I
own several special schools in Seoul
and its vicinity to help high school students and graduates prepare for college
entrance examinations.
It
was only after I learned about the Blessed Mother of Naju some years ago that I
realized what our prayer life should be like and how Catholics should lead
their lives. Besides, all my business projects were going well. I said to
myself, “All these have been possible, because the Blessed Mother has been
with us, and felt so grateful.
Over
time, however, as my business continued prospering, I was becoming prouder,
thinking that the success was made possible by my own intelligence. As my pride
and self-confidence continued growing, a sudden, unexpected crisis, which could
have wiped out my business, hit us. I became desperate. At the crossroads where
I could live or die, I remembered the Blessed Mother whom I had forgotten for
so long.
So,
I said to my wife, "Honey, the current problem cannot be resolved even with
money. The only one we can rely on in the whole world is the Blessed Mother of
Naju! This crisis cannot be overcome unless she helps us. Let's go to Naju!
On November 12, 2001, we went to Naju. We arrived there at about 2 p.m. On the
Blessed Mother's mountain, we saw people collecting little rocks and fallen
tree leaves stained with blood (to be preserved in the Chapel). At the moment I
saw many blood-stained rocks on the Way of the Cross, I became overwhelmed with
an indescribable feeling: Oh! The Sacred Blood of Jesus! How can a sinner
like me personally witness this Sacred Blood! I continued watching people
collecting the blood-stained rocks. My wife sat down plump and began crying.
As
I was watching people collecting the blood-stained rocks, I felt anxious to
help even a little, but I did not think that a sinner like me could dare touch
the stones that were stained with the Sacred Blood of Jesus. At that moment,
Julia, who was collecting the blood-stained rocks, noticed us and asked for
help. We were so delighted to participate in the holy work. Only a small
portion of the work was videotaped. It was about 3 p.m. when we began working.
Many people smelled the fragrance of roses while collecting the blood-stained
rocks. I also saw the water of mercy descending upon a large rock in front of
the Twelfth Station. The water of mercy also came down near the Thirteenth
Station. When I carefully touched the water with my finger, it felt more like
oil (fragrant oil) than water.
That
day, we had gone to Naju to ask the Blessed Mother for help in our business
crisis, but unexpectedly we ended up participating in the holy work of
collecting rocks stained with the Precious Blood of Jesus, witnessing many
amazing signs while working. Because we had to come back to Seoul on the same day, we worked only until 7:30 p.m. We felt sorry
that we could not work any longer.
On
the way back to Seoul,
I looked at my wife worrying about her sinusitis, from which she had suffered
for a long time. Suddenly realizing that she had not sneezed all day, I asked
her, "Are you okay? You are not sneezing. She seemed surprised also and
said, "Yes, I am really okay. I think I was healed.
I
was amazed, because my wife had suffered from sinusitis for so long, sneezing
even when washing her face with cold water. While working on the Blessed
Mother's mountain in cold weather for four-and-a-half hours, she did not sneeze
even once, nor her nose run. However, I thought that she might be feeling
better only temporarily.
When
we arrived home, we saw that our children were sleeping without having turned
on the heater. So, I thought that my wife's sinusitis would worsen and she
would sneeze a lot. Next morning, to my surprise, she was washing clothes and
cleaning the house as if she did not have any problem. I asked, "Huh? Are
you really okay?' She said, "The Blessed Mother healed me. I am
perfectly okay. I was not sure and took her to a hospital for examination.
She was really healed of sinusitis! Because of her severe allergy problem, the
bridge of her nose had been crooked, but now it was straight again!
Actually,
my wife and I had visited many hospitals because of her chronic sinusitis. Some
of the doctors said, "It is very hard to be completely healed of this kind
of sinusitis. If someone finds a cure for sinusitis caused by allergy, he will
become a millionaire. The only thing they could do for my wife was to
reduce the symptoms. They advised us not to believe anyone who claims to have a
cure for this illness. However, my wife was completely healed thanks to the
grace from the Blessed Mother!
Besides,
my business problem was also resolved so satisfactorily and speedily that we
were able to come back to Naju with happy and relaxed hearts like this today.
We
give sincere thanks to the Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju for having
poured so many blessings upon our family. Thank you.
